Welcome to Marlborough 2010!

Mayor StevensWelcome to the web home of Marlborough 2010 Corporation, the state-chartered economic development corporation for the city of Marlborough, Massachusetts. Marlborough 2010 is a unique and innovative public-private collaboration whose mission is to implement proactive initiatives for business and industrial expansion in the City with a goal of creating and preserving valued jobs in our broad-based economy and fostering commercial growth and revitalization in the City’s downtown and historic neighborhoods.

Marlborough is the Crossroads City on the Massachusetts’ Innovation Highway, Interstate 495, conveniently located just 24 miles west of Boston and Cambridge and only 14 miles east of Worcester. Its central New England location, at the intersections of Routes 90, 495 and 290, is within 80 miles of Southern Maine; Manchester and Nashua, NH; Hartford, CT; and Providence, RI. It is the heart of the state’s growing innovation economy with job and population growth spurred by national firms in hi-tech, defense, financial services, bio-sciences and renewable energy technologies. Successful firms such as Raytheon, Hewlett-Packard, Fidelity Investments, Sepracor, Hologic, Evergreen Solar, and 3Com either call Marlborough home or have a major presence in the City. Boston Scientific, Ken’s Foods, Verizon and Rohm & Haas all have manufacturing or engineering facilities in the City.

The City is also home to a number of vibrant and growing businesses that will be next generation technologies – firms such as Workscape, Netezza, Egenera, IQUUM Pharmaceuticals, Xcellerex, Creganna and Exact Sciences. As these firms have discovered, with a highly educated and diverse workforce within easy commute of its affordable Class A office and industrial parks, Marlborough is a location ideally suited for business development.

Marlborough 2010 will work with you to showcase development opportunities in the City. It is your one-stop point of contact to tap into the City’s array of business-friendly services and information resources. With a legislative mandate to promote economic development in the City, Marlborough 2010 works in close collaboration with the Mayor’s office, the City Council, the Massachusetts Office of Business Development, MassDevelopment, the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, and regional metropolitan planning offices.
